Episode 11- Harnessing one of the greatest tools for growth
Monday Dec 07, 2020
Monday Dec 07, 2020
One of the greatest tools for business, professional and personal growth is the master mind.
In this episode, I give you my thoughts on the power of it and talk about Napoleon Hill's definition from his classic work, Think And Grow Rich.
I share some of my experiences with my own master mind group as well as some tips in finding one for yourself.
The challenge I have for you as you form your 2021 goals and aims is to find a master mind group that will take you to the next version of your business, your professional growth and your personal growth.
There is so much untapped potential with you that can only be drawn out through the power of the master mind.
If you haven't read Napoleon Hill's book, I highly encourage you to put it on your reading or listening list now and dive into it. It is powerful and takes some deep study but will unlock so much within you.
Please subscribe, review and give me a 5 star rating so that we can reach more people who want to grow their businesses and grow their impact.

Episode 10 - Leadership transitions with Jason Burt
Monday Nov 30, 2020
Monday Nov 30, 2020
When you've been on MTV, 60 Minutes, The BBC and other media outlets sitting in the number two chair of an organization, how do you transition to be the CEO?
Today's guest is Jason Burt who is the President and CEO of Unaltered Ministries. He shares how he made that transition and the challenges that went along with it as he entered the growth space.
He shares some of the qualities that he needed to learn and also the struggles along the way as he felt the weight of the CEO role and navigated an organizational name change and then the pandemic.
Jason talks about having a safe space to share the struggles of leadership and also having the support of a group that challenges you as you enter that growth space of learning.
Listen in as he talks about how you can move through your career and your life with intention and the importance of developing emerging leaders (one of my favorite topics).
Speaking of emerging leaders, this episode is brought to you by the Emerging Leader Inner Circle Virtual Summit taking place on December 1st and 8th. Everything that Jason talks about is what this Summit and environment is all about.
You still have time to join and also get the recordings when you go to https://www.davidmcglennen.com/ELICVirtualSummit

Monday Nov 23, 2020
Monday Nov 23, 2020
This conversation with Dr. Rosie Ward, who just released her newest book "Rehumanizing The Workplace", is really insightful.
We all go through our own growth journey and to hear Rosie's is really inspiring.
Rosie was selected in 2019 to be a Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator with Brene Brown and she is an author who says she's a work in progress and never really done growing as she continues to learn and evolve.
We discuss imposter syndrome and then dive into her book where she shares the 5 Keys to re-humanizing the workplace. She says that "growth is never easy but its got such reward."
You're going to love this episode!

Episode 7 - The Power of An Inner Circle
Monday Nov 16, 2020
Monday Nov 16, 2020
This is my first guest conversation on In The Growth Space and I am honored to have one of my mentors to be that first guest.
Paul Martinelli went from High School dropout with a stuttering disability from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and a dim future to owner of a commercial office cleaning company which he sold for $1 million.
He has shared the stage with speakers like Les Brown, Seth Godin, Nick Vujicic, Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Wayne Dyer, Denis Waitley, Zig Ziglar and of course John Maxwell.
He put up his own money to partner with John Maxwell and start the John Maxwell Team. It’s where I originally met Paul and got to be mentored by him.
We talk about the power of an inner circle - a mastermind and how to turn down the volume of that internal voice that tells you that you can't do something.
Be sure to let me know what your takeaways are after I give you mine at the end of this episode. Send me a note at admin@davidmcglennen.com to get in touch!

Episode 6 - Navigating seasons of growth
Monday Nov 09, 2020
Monday Nov 09, 2020
Why is it so hard to take time away from work - especially for high achievers and typical "Type A" personality people?
The fear of missing out or falling behind is real and too often we are afraid of really enjoying the progress we have made.
As a business owner and business leaders, it is so easy to keep looking at the gap of where we are versus where we want to be.
But by measuring the gain of where we started and enjoying a successful season, we can increase our satisfaction and live in alignment with the things we value most.
Listen in as I share some strategies that I've used to lean into the natural rhythms of life and business.
And don't miss next week's episode with my mentor, Paul Martinelli. He's the man who, together with John Maxwell and $1million of his own money, built the John Maxwell Team to a worldwide coaching and speaking team.

Episode 5 - How to Break Through the Terror Barrier
Monday Nov 02, 2020
Monday Nov 02, 2020
On this episode, I talk about what it feels like getting out of your comfort zone and the emotional cycle that keeps most leaders in theirs.
Once we do something that we've never done before, there's an invisible barrier that I call the terror barrier. It keeps leaders safe, secure and dangerously comfortable.
I'm going to tell you how to break through it. It isn't easy but it can be done. It must be done!
It takes one of two things. So listen in and find out what that is.
I talk about a video that I did for my Emerging Leader Inner Circle and here's the link to that video on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/0i2RvnjcJso
And if you have questions or comments, please reach out to me and my team at admin@davidmcglennen.com

Episode 4 - Getting out of the comfort zone
Monday Oct 26, 2020
Monday Oct 26, 2020
In this episode, I'm starting a series on the foundations of building growth into your business and into your life.
It's become a familiar and somewhat trite saying that growth only happens outside of your comfort zone.
But what does that really mean?
It involves habits and beliefs.
In this episode, I share how to actually do it. There's an orderly process to getting out of your comfort zone.
But that doesn't mean it's easy!
